San Lorenzo is a canyon south of Albquerque and north of Socorro, New Mexico. Four-wheel drive is recommended for driving on the soft sand on the way to the canyon. I've painted en plein air at San Lorenzo Canyon many times over the years. This pastel painting was created using reference photos taken in the morning during one of my plein air painting excursions.
